Conversation Prism

Info graphics of all social networks. The Conversation Prism is a diagram showing all social media related to us. It’s an ongoing study in digital ethnography which is divided into groups and sub groups. It starts with the user and is divided with 3 main groups which are listening, adapting, and learning. These prism tracks and organize all social networks by how they are used in our daily lives. We can use the prism for many purposes including studying the landscape as you plan your next social media strategy, showing the world that you appreciate art, and know every interesting social networks there is to know in the world.

Star Topology

This is picture of what a star topology looks like, so everyone can get an easier understanding of it. A star topology is one of the most common network setups where each of the devices and computers on a network connect to a central hub. A major disadvantage of this network topology is that if the central hub fails, all computers connected to that hub would be disconnected. The star topology reduces the damage caused by line failure by connecting all of the systems to a central node. The advantages of star topology are the better performance, the isolation of devices, and benefits from centralization.

Pinterest is one of the most apps download website, it has been download for nearly 250,000 times. Moreover, this website are for both genders. There are subcategories which users can click and access to their interest. For example, I personally access to this particular website to look at tattoos design. People are sharing their tattoos photo with the meaning of it. I find this very interesting. For girls, they usually visit this website to look at fashion, quotes and others. Also, this website is connected to twitter and Facebook, so whenever they post or pin the picture, it will share to these two social network.

This info graphic shows the highest and lowest proportion of social network users across the EU in 2012. The result shows that Netherlands has the highest users at 65% and the lowest is Romania at 22%. However, in the bottom right of the picture, it shows the access to social network via smartphone. The result show that Sweden has the highest number of users through smartphone followed by UK. From this info graphic, we can conclude that social network plays a very important role in our society, and it is also a very important tool to communicate with others, but people should be aware because social network also has its disadvantages.

Social network is a tool that people use to communicate, public ideas, photo sharing and many more. Nowadays, people spend most of their time checking their social network sites. There are several common social network sites such as Facebook, Twitter, My space and others. Social network sites are categories into few groups. For example, if the users want to look for videos, they usually visit Youtube, which is the most common site that people access. Moreover, today people can download social network apps which allow them to check through their smartphone. So, how many have you used? 🙂
